Year 6 Weekly Blog

14.10.22
Good afternoon,
Y6 thoroughly enjoyed their session this afternoon with Bronya, who many of you will know as she is one of our school Governors, was previously the chair of the PTA and has many connections within the village. Bronya spoke to the children about her career as a Graphic Designer. The children were set a challenge to create branding and a design for packaging for a new chocolate bar. Check out the school Instagram page to see their designs!
The children have been working hard in maths, moving on to multiplication and division. We have been revising arrays, factors and square numbers and how we can apply our knowledge of these to problem-solving tasks.
In English, we have moved on to exploring a video called 'The Black Hole' to inspire our writing. We will finish this unit by writing a letter next week. All the children now have access to books which they are very excited about! They have an account with a website called 'soraapp' and their log in is the same as their Brockenhurst Primary Google account and password. They can loan a huge variety of books to read, as well as comics, magazines and audiobooks. The children have practised logging in at school, but if they would like to do this at home too, here is the link to the website:

We hope you all enjoy your weekend and look forward to seeing many of you at Parents' Evening next week.
