Good afternoon,

Year 6 have had a busy first week back! 

We have started two new books in English and Guided Reading - 'Wonder' and 'The Lost Thing'. The children have been really engaged in both of these books, and we will continue to complete some work on these.  We have specifically chosen these books to aid discussions about the transition to secondary school, so our units will  link in with the work we will be doing on this.

In maths, we have started a unit linked to a bakery project, which connects multiple areas of maths including ratio, percentages and converting measures. We will continue with this next week too.

We were really impressed with the children at Bikeability this week. The team commented on their wonderful behaviour, so that was really lovely to hear.  We will be handing our certificates and badges next week. 

On Thursday we have our trip to The Tower of London. The information for this is on the letter received, which I will attach here in case anyone has misplaced the letter.
