We Enjoy and Excel in the Presence of God

Year 6 Weekly Blog

23.5.25

Good afternoon,

Well what a half-term for Year 6! With SATs week,  their final ever Sports Day at Brockenhurst Primary, and beginning our production of Oliver Twist.

The children have been given their scripts today for their parts. It was incredibly hard putting the children into their parts, with lots of children hoping for a lead role, but we talked today about how every part is as important as the rest, and each part is vital in making sure the story is told well. There is room for children to be slotted into additional roles after half-term if there is something that needs filling, which I have spoken to some children about today. Hopefully, the children will be able to start learning their lines next week, ready for rehearsals the week after.

The children have also taken home their leavers' hoodies today. We are happy for the children to wear these on the playground, but ask that they take them off in the classroom and in the hall.

Thank you for everyone's support at Sports Day yesterday. The children seemed to have a fantastic time, and we were especially grateful to the Sports Captains for all their help.
