Good afternoon,
Our rehearsals have been in full swing this week! We are trying to timetable time to practise for the show each day at some point around our normal timetable, but the children are already thoroughly enjoying getting into their characters, which has been lovely to see.
Forest School was cancelled this week due to the wind and rain, but the children will have a rescheduled session to make up for this.
In English this week, the children have been writing short stories, trying to create an atmosphere of tension while also feeling sympathy for a character. The children's writing has been inspired by classic literature, including Oliver Twist and Little Women. They have done a brilliant job!
In maths, we have completed work on 3D shapes, including volume and nets. This is all part of a bakery project which all of our maths lessons are linked to.
In PE today we started our new unit, which is tag rugby. The children had to work hard to escape from the defenders in some of the mini-games that we played.
Please keep encouraging your child to learn their lines for the play as we will be encouraging them to perform without scripts within the next couple of weeks. We aim to send out letters with information about costumes in the next couple of weeks too.
Have a great weekend.
