Year 6

Year 6 - 3.10.25
We have had a great week in Year 6. One of our highlights was PE where we focussed on collaboration, communication and teamwork. We applied these skills to some fun games which included directing a group member that had a blindfold on. This activity depended on clear instructions and trust. Another highlight has to be our second career session with Outdoor Educator, Sally. Sally is passionate about being outdoors and sharing her knowledge with others. After a Q&A session, Year 6 then took part in a range of activities identifying leaves, seeds and berries.
In writing this week, we have focused on our trip to Swanage and have been writing recounts for our class display. The class focused on applying relative clauses and conjunctions, as well as making their writing interesting and descriptive. They have then published ready to display.
In maths, we have continued on our journey looking at the four operations. We have looked at identifying factors and multiples at the start of the week. We then used this knowledge to help us become familiar with rules of divisibility and identify prime numbers to 100.
Due to staffing changes, the expected sessions of Forest School for the Autumn term will be spread out across a longer period of time. All children will still receive an equal number of sessions and I will confirm dates in due course.
We hope you all have a lovely weekend.
