Year 6
Year 6 - 24.10.25
We have reached the end of our first half term together and what a fantastic 7 weeks we have had! Swanage has to be one of our highlights, along with our career sessions. We are very fortunate to have been a part of many brilliant opportunities this half term. We have ended the afternoon with a trip to Balmer Lawn Hotel as our final career session for this half term. The class had a fantastic time with a tour of the hotel and decorating cupcakes and pumpkins.
In other news this week, we have come to the end of our ‘Black Hole’ film unit in English. The class have written and edited persuasive letters based on whether they wanted to keep or destroy the black hole. The class have carefully considered their viewpoint and audience and tried to maintain a formal tone throughout.
In maths, we have looked at solving a range of different word problems linking the four operations. We then looked at the order in which operations should be completed in and used BODMAS to help us remember them.
It has been wonderful to catch up with so many of you at this week’s Parents’ Evening and share your children’s successes and next steps. If you do ever have any queries or questions, please do get in touch.
We hope you have a great half term.
We will see you back on Tuesday 4th November.
