Welcome back! We hope you had a lovely half term. One of our highlights this week was being joined by Ed for our career session. Ed is an A&E doctor, event paramedic and works for the air ambulance. He told us about his roles and how his career has developed over time. He also showed us his ambulance and gave us a lesson in CPR. 

In other news, we have started our new English unit based on Marcus Rashford’s text, ‘You Are a Champion.’ This text is a positive and inspiring guide for life. We have stated exploring the text together as well as unpicking what being a champion could mean. 

In maths, we have started our new unit on fractions. We have revisited equivalence using both fraction walls and number lines. We have used this to simplify fractions. We also explored using factors to find fractions in their simplest form. The children’s knowledge of multiplication facts really supports their understanding of fractions. 

The class have started their D&T project for this term and explored festive bunting. We are looking forward to getting creative as we build up to the children creating their own!
