Year 6

Year 6 - 14.11.25
We have had a great week in Year 6. Today, we were joined by author, illustrator and cartoonist Simon Chadwick. We enjoyed hearing about his career, asking many questions and taking part in a drawing session. As you can see from the blog picture, the outcome was fantastic!
In other news, we have continued our learning journey with Marcus Rashford’s, ‘You are a Champion.’ We have looked at identifying modal verbs in the text and explored how they have been used. The class then moved on to using them in their own writing. Today, the children were given part of a chapter and had to continue the writing in the same style as the author. We were really impressed with their hard work.
In maths, we have been looking at fractions. The class have been comparing and ordering fractions. They have had to ensure that they convert the fraction so that either the numerators or denominators are the same for comparing. The class have drawn on their times tables knowledge which helps them to be efficient and accurate in their workings.
We hope you have a lovely weekend.
