Year 6
Year 6 - 21.11.25
We have had a great end to our week in Year 6. We have been joined by Sam, a photographer and filmmaker, for our latest career session. Sam has visited some amazing places around the world and has captured incredible footage of wildlife in action, whilst working on many David Attenborough documentaries. He shared with us some wonderful photos, videos and tales of his career and experiences. We then got to have a look at one of his drones! Another highlight was a tennis session with Coach Andy. We were joined by Andy, who led a very energetic, competitive and fun tennis taster session. Despite it being a little chilly, the class fully embraced the session and loved the experience.
In other news this week, we have written our own inspirational letters to our future selves. The class produced some fantastic pieces of writing and really applied the style that Marcus used in his text. We explored the elements that would be needed to make our writing successful and discussed both the transcription and composition of our letters. We are really pleased with the outcome and the children should be proud.
In maths, we have continued our learning journey linked to fractions. We have been adding and subtracting different fractions and solving a variety of problems. The class have ensured that they are looking at the question, checking the denominators (and converting them if necessary) and recording their workings to limit errors. They have done really well and have become more fluent throughout the week.
We hope you have a lovely weekend.
