Year 6

Year 6 - 30.1.26
Year 6 have had a very enjoyable and productive week. A particular highlight was watching the pantomime Robin Hood, which was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. The performance was lively, engaging and full of humour! We would like to say a big thank you to the PTA for organising this wonderful experience for the children.
In English, we began a new unit based on The Alchemist’s Letter. The children explored the structure, mood and characters of the film and developed their inference skills by considering characters’ thoughts and feelings at different moments. There were some thoughtful discussions and excellent contributions throughout the week.
In Maths, the children have been developing their problem-solving skills through work on ratio, applying their learning to real-life contexts such as recipes. To end the week, we introduced one-step and two-step function machines, providing a strong starting point for our upcoming algebra unit.
Well done to Year 6 for their positive attitude and hard work this week.
Have a lovely weekend.
