It has been a great week in Year 6! A real highlight was our whole school Danceathon, where the children competed in their house teams. They demonstrated fantastic enthusiasm, energy and team spirit throughout the event. It was wonderful to see everyone encouraging one another and taking pride in representing their house.

In English, the class have been writing letters inspired by The Alchemist’s Letter. The children chose different perspectives and purposes for their writing, carefully considering the emotions each character might be feeling. It was excellent to see them adapting their tone and language depending on whether they were writing to apologise, warn, forgive or explain.

In Maths, we completed our unit on algebra. The children have worked hard to understand how letters can represent numbers and how to manipulate expressions. We finished the unit by forming and solving equations, as well as tackling problem-solving questions which required careful reasoning.

Thank you to everyone who attended Parents’ Evening this week. It was a pleasure to share the children’s progress and discuss the positive steps they are making in their learning.

A reminder that Bikeability begins on Monday 23rd February. Please ensure that children bring their bikes and helmets unless you have requested equipment directly.
