Year 6

Year 6 - 6.3.26
It has been lovely enjoying the sunshine this week! We made the most of the good weather with badminton, no wet play and Golden Time in the warmer weather. Hopefully the sunshine will return again next week.
We also enjoyed celebrating World Book Day this week. The children came to school in comfy clothing and took part in a range of book-themed activities around the school, including making bookmarks, illustrating scenes and designing front covers for books. Year 6 also spent some time with Year R, joining them for stories during their snack time, which was a great way to share our enjoyment of reading.
In English, we have been exploring simple, compound and complex sentences. We applied these different sentence types, along with cohesive devices, to write a recount about Torak’s journey so far, thinking carefully about how to organise our ideas and link them together clearly.
In Maths, we have been learning how to find decimals using fractions, including using division and converting fractions into tenths, hundredths and thousandths. Today, we also began looking at percentages and discussed the best strategies for finding a particular percentage of an amount.
Have a wonderful weekend!
