Year 6 have worked incredibly hard this week and I have been really impressed with the effort and focus shown across all areas of learning. The class have approached their work with a positive attitude and a determination to do their very best.

In English, we have been writing a first-person narrative recount inspired by Wolf Brother. The children worked hard to step into the character’s shoes and describe events from their point of view. The writing produced has been powerful and engaging, with some fantastic use of description, emotion and detail. It has been wonderful to see how confidently the children are developing their storytelling voices.

In Maths, we have been exploring the relationships between percentages, decimals and fractions. The class have been ordering and comparing different values and finding equivalent forms. Towards the end of the week, we applied this knowledge to calculate percentages of amounts, demonstrating a growing understanding of how these concepts link together.
