Year 6

Year 6 - 17.4.26
Welcome back! I hope you all had a lovely Easter break and are feeling refreshed for the new term ahead.
It’s been a fantastic first week back in Year 6. One of our highlights has been our art work, where the children created their own versions of Starry Night, inspired by Vincent van Gogh. They also explored photographs of starry night skies taken from our local area, which helped bring their ideas to life beautifully.
In Maths, we have been focusing on statistics. The class has been learning how to read and interpret line graphs, bar charts, and pie charts, developing their confidence in analysing data.
In English, we have started exploring our new class text, Holes. Alongside this, we have been revisiting dialogue and different sentence types to strengthen our writing skills. The children have begun planning their own narratives based on Stanley’s arrival at Camp Green Lake, and we’re excited to see how their stories develop.
We hope you have a wonderful weekend!
