We Enjoy and Excel in the Presence of God

Year 6 - 24.4.26

Year 6 - 24.4.26

We’ve ended the week with some truly lovely weather, which has been fantastic. One of the highlights this week was another brilliant art session. The children used watercolours to create their own interpretations of Starry Night, producing some really creative pieces. They should be very proud of themselves! Another highlight has been starting our new RE unit, which is in preparation for our Winchester Leavers’ Service. This year’s theme is hope, and we’ve already begun some meaningful discussions about what that means to us and others.

In English, the class planned and wrote descriptive narratives linked to Holes, focusing on Stanley’s journey to Camp Green Lake. A key focus was including dialogue effectively, and the children worked hard to bring their writing to life.

In maths, we have been learning about shape, including measuring and calculating angles, as well as understanding vertically opposite angles.

Thank you for returning both the Paultons Park letter and the SATs breakfast letter. Just to clarify, there is no sausage option for the Thursday breakfast—choices are bacon or vegetarian.

A quick reminder: only stud earrings are allowed in school, and these must be covered or removed for PE.

We hope you have a great weekend.
