It has been a fantastic week in Year 6. Rehearsals for the end-of-year production are now well under way, and the class are doing brilliantly. They are fully engaged, enthusiastic and giving their all. A separate letter with costume information has already been sent home via email.

One of the highlights this week was a visit from Priestlands Secondary School for those children who will be attending in September. The staff gave the children some key information about what to expect when they join and answered a number of their questions. Each child also has a booklet and a postcard design to complete at home before their intake day in July.

In maths, we have begun a project focused on gathering and recording data. Each child is planning a holiday and is collecting information about climate and transport costs. They are thoroughly enjoying this work and have come up with some wonderful destinations they would love to visit.

In English, we have explored the blurbs for both Wonder and Harry Potter. The class will be voting for their preferred text, and the winning book will become our writing focus for the next few weeks. This has generated lots of thoughtful discussion and enthusiasm across the class.
