We have had a great week in Year 6. One particular highlight was the launch of our career sessions, which began today with a visit from Bronya. She gave the children a valuable insight into her work in design and marketing, and they thoroughly enjoyed applying their own ideas to the afternoon task of designing a new chocolate bar.

In maths, we have continued our place value journey by working on rounding, comparing and ordering numbers, and negative numbers. We ended the week by revisiting addition and subtraction, with a particular focus on spotting and correcting errors in our work. The children showed great perseverance and careful thinking throughout these lessons.

In English, we have been exploring adverbs and relative clauses, building on prior knowledge and considering how these are used by the author of Dead Man’s Cove. We have finished the week by applying these features in our own writing.
