Year 6

Year 6 - 2.10.2026
We have had a lovely week in Year 6. The week ended with an wonderful careers session led by Natalie from Forest Architecture. During the session, the children learnt about the skills that may be required to become architects. They also enjoyed designing their own homes and presenting their ideas to the rest of the class.
In maths, we have been focusing on long multiplication. The class has become increasingly fluent in applying the formal method and checking answers carefully for errors. We have also explored mental strategies for multiplication and applied our knowledge to a range of problem-solving tasks.
In English, we have begun exploring King Kong by Anthony Browne. After sharing the story as a class, the children took part in a press conference, stepping into the roles of different characters. This encouraged them to consider a range of perspectives and generate thoughtful questions. We ended the week by describing Kong using ambitious vocabulary.
We hope you have a lovely weekend.
