We have had a busy week in Year 6. One of the highlights was our careers session, during which we were joined by Agister Jonathan. He spoke to the children about his role and shared an insight into his work. In art, the children used Gelli tiles to create prints, which they then used to create landscape collages of Swanage.

In English, the children wrote recounts of their favourite day in Swanage. They carefully considered their vocabulary choices and writing style, including relative clauses, a range of conjunctions, adverbs and an informal tone. They then published their work for our display.

In maths, the class explored the order of operations in mixed-operation number sentences, working carefully to solve each problem in the correct order. They also developed their ability to use mental methods and reason from known facts.
