We Enjoy and Excel in the Presence of God

Off to the Arctic!

Week ending 25.1.18

This week’s weather has provided us with the perfect opportunity to be imagining life in the Polar regions.  Last week we visited Antarctica and this week we have taken our intrepid travels as far north as we can to the Arctic.  Here we have met the ferocious but cuddly-looking polar bears.  We have an assortment of Polar animals in the classroom now and we have been busy thinking about which ones might eat each other in real life!

The children have enjoyed finding out about Polar bears and thinking about how to keep Pip, our class penguin, safe.  They have also been trying to build him boats to sail back home to the Antarctic.   We would be really grateful if you have an old yoghurt pots, plastic bottles, small cardboard boxes etc, as this would help us in our construction projects over the next couple of weeks. Next week we will focus on how people live in the North Pole, their environment and way of life.

Today we have sent home the next set of key words, please keep practising reading and writing them and add them to your tricky word tins!

We will be making lots of use of our outdoor area over the coming weeks, so please can all children return their wellies to their lockers so that we can avoid any cold and soggy feet! Many thanks.

We hope you have a lovely weekend,

Best wishes,

Miss Lever and Miss Harper
