We Enjoy and Excel in the Presence of God

More mini-beasts!

W/E: 21/6/19

More mini-beasts this week, despite the showers; their enthusiasm for this topic shows no bounds!  Lots of woodlice and worms, the odd stag beetle and scurrying ants who we can’t catch.  The children have been delighted with their finds and have enjoyed making little habitats for them, treating them carefully and making sure they are returned to a safe place by the end of the day!

In maths, we have been looking at money – different ways of paying, coins and notes.  We have counted out amounts with pennies and we have started problem solving by adding 2 small amounts together.  The children have enjoyed this thoroughly so apologies for any purse rummaging this weekend.

Many thanks to you all for your continuing great observations on Tapestry.  We have not put as many observations on recently, as we are report writing and spending much of our time with the children in gathering evidence for our end of year Foundation Stage Profile.  Do keep your observations around our topics and skills coming though as it is great to see the embedded learning taking place.

Just a reminder for sports day that children will need a coloured t-shirt to wear to match their house. Please see the slip in bookbags today if you are unsure of your child’s house.

Whitemoor – red

Oberfield – yellow

Longslade – green

Rhinefield – blue

Next Friday (June 28th)  is Little Flames, we are looking for parent helpers to accompany us on our walk to church. Please see a member of the team if you have DBS clearance and are free to help. Many thanks.

Thank you to all the Dads, Grandads and family members who joined us in class today, we really enjoyed working with you and sharing our learning all about mini-beasts.

Have a lovely weekend together, let’s hope for some sunshine!
