What excitement - all Badger Class have their first ever reading book! They are all very pleased with themselves and we are very proud of them. A few were a little worried that they didn't know how to read, but I explained that it was my job to teach them and they all had a super first go. The children are mainly reliant on the pictures and the repetitive nature of the words at the moment. They need lots of encouragement and praise - please don't let them struggle. If they are stuck, just tell them the word. It should be supported reading at this stage.

We were first in the hall this morning to have our photos taken so luckily everyone was still clean and tidy. We managed to get everyone to smile and the pictures all look lovely. The instructions for purchase are all on the proofs the children brought home. You have 7 working days to return the forms to school to ensure free postage and packing back to school.

We hope to start giving out keywords next week. Many thanks to those who have already sent in a container for these. If you haven't we need a small named pot for each child. Please get them into school asap.
