We Enjoy and Excel in the Presence of God

Year R

Friday 25th September

Good evening to you all,

Badger Class have had an amazing first full week at school together. Mrs Groves and I have been so impressed by how well they have coped this week and by how far they have come in just 5 days. They are already experts (sort of!) at following the routines of our day. They have all been very busy making new friends and exploring the classroom. They have also got to know Mr and Mrs Locke who look after them so well at lunchtimes.

We had such an exciting time this afternoon as we set up our Worm City Composter. The children were thrilled to see the wriggly worms and to see me with filthy hands covered in compost. They are looking forward to feeding them their apple cores and banana skins next week after snack time. I will post the pictures on Tapestry for you all to see.

There are still some parents who have not activated their accounts for Tapestry. I will resend the activation emails to you as I know there was a technical hitch and some parents didn't receive them the first time around.

As Autumn continues the weather will probably not improve. Please make sure your child has a coat in school every day as we are outside, whatever the weather. We encourage the children to be as independent as possible and would love them to put their coats on by themselves. If you could help your child to have a practise over the weekend it would be fantastic.

As we start our new week on Monday it will be at our official new start time of 8.45am. We are managing to get the older children in quickly in the mornings so our start time can be brought forward. One of us will still be on the gate to support the children coming in to school.

Have a great weekend, whatever you are doing. I hope we have exhausted all your little ones so they all sleep well for you.
