Friday 13th November
We have had a very beary busy week this week. The children have absolutely loved learning the story of We're going on a Bear Hunt and can now perform it word perfectly with all the actions. What excitement when we went on our own bear hunt yesterday afternoon and discovered a very special bear for the class.
Today we have made bear paw cookies. The children were fantastic at helping us weigh the ingredients and mixing them all together. They all patiently waited for their turn to spoon out a cookie. I imagine by the time you read this all the cookies will be gone!
We have been thinking about 2D shapes this week, investigating what makes the shapes special, counting their corners and sides and trying to remember their names. We have also continued practising writing our own names.
We are planning to hold an EYFS Information Meeting next week on Thursday at 8pm. This will be held virtually, via zoom and will allow me to explain how your children are taught in Year R, looking in particular at phonics, reading and writing. We will send all parents a zoom invitation next week and I hope that you will be able to join us. You will have the opportunity to ask questions too.
Have a great weekend
