We Enjoy and Excel in the Presence of God

Year R

Friday Blog - Friday 18th June

What a week of weather extremes! The hot sunshine at the start of the week to torrential rain today! We have certainly been out in all weathers.

Our book this week has been The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle, which the children have enjoyed immensely.  We have sequenced pictures from the story, labelled the food he ate and painted some amazing pictures of his food. The children have watched in amazement as our own caterpillars have grown and grown. By the end of the day some of them were starting to hang from the top of their containers, so we could have some chrysalises by Monday.

In a few weeks time we will be creating a sculpture that will be part of a Recycled Art Sculpture Trail in the churchyard. We are going to use plastic bottle tops to make our creation. Please could you collect any you have used at home and send them into school.

There has been a sweatshirt left at the end of the day all week, age 5-6yrs - no name! If you discover you are missing one, do let me know.

We have all missed Mrs Groves this week, but the children have been great at helping Miss Welton settle into her new role. She is quickly getting to know the children so well and has had lots of fun with them this week.

I hope you all have a fantastic weekend,

Clare
