Friday Blog - Friday 4th November

Good afternoon Everyone,

Thank you to all the parents who were able to join us On Wednesday for soup. It was such a lovely experience for the children, they were so excited to share their classroom with you all. Don't worry if you couldn't make it this time, we will hold similar events later in the year.

Yesterday the children all came home with a letter about our visit to Lymington Library. Please complete the slip and return to me or the school office as soon as possible.

Many thanks to those parents who have already sent in a small plastic pot, for tricky words. I will send the out with the first few words we have learnt early next week. If you haven't yet sent in a pot, please send it in on Monday.

The children were very excited today to have their first reading book! The children all did brilliantly on their first read and are keen to share their books at home. The book should be in their bag in a reading wallet. There is also a reading record which you can fill in every time you read at home with your child. The reading wallets need to come into school every day.

I know that the office has started DBS checks for those parents who had agreed to one. Once your DBS is completed I would be delighted if you have any spare time each week to come into school to help, either with reading, practising tricky words or helping with Forest School.  Please let me know if you would like to come and help. I will make a sign-up sheet for forest school as it is helpful to have 2 additional adults with us each week.

The children are also bringing home their Christmas card art today. If you wish to order Christmas cards, follow the instructions on the leaflet.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, do contact me.

Enjoy your weekend,

The Year R Team
