Good afternoon everyone,

We have had a week full of book related excitement!

On Tuesday we were joined by local author Lisa Esposito. We all put on our wellies to listen to her story from The Wonderful World of Wellies, all about Ollie and Ellie's Outdoor Adventures. The children listened beautifully and loved joining in with some wellie actions at the end.

On Thursday it was fantastic to see all the children dressed as their book characters. They all confidently stood up and shared their book character with the rest of the class. We were joined by Hedgehog Class from preschool later in the morning to watch a live storytelling session, via zoom. A storyteller told us a traditional African tale that was very similar to We're going on a Bear Hunt. The children joined in with all the actions. She then retold the story of the 3 Little Pigs and the children were very enthusiastic about huffing and puffing with the big bad wolf!

We have been learning some poems too, this week. They all have actions to help us remember the words. The children's favourite is called Popcorn - ask your child to share it with you!

We didn't manage Forest School this week, as we decided it would be too tricky to get our costumes into waterproof trousers! We will be back to it next week. I will put out the list for parent helpers again too.
