Year 1 - 14.12.12
What a week it has been! It goes without saying that we are all so proud of what KS1 and Year R have achieved with the Nativity. Everyone learnt their lines, projected their voices and sang beautifully. Well done! Can we also take this opportunity to say thank you to you all, for providing wonderful costumes, helping children to learn their lines, walking to the church and putting up with endless renditions of the songs around the house. We couldn't do it without you.
We also had a very exciting start to the week when the fire engine came into school. We tried on hats and coats, put out fires with the hose and drove the fire engine, with the lights and sirens blazing across Southampton. Oh the wonders of virtual reality!
In maths this week we have been looking at lots of areas that we have learnt about this term, including length, height adding and subtracting.
In English we have been writing about our fire engine experience and writing instructions for how to make a snowflake.
There is no homelearning expectation this week, however keep your eyes peeled next week when we will be announcing a Christmas Challenge!
Have a wonderful weekend.
Year 1 Team.
