Instructions

Phonics

10 mins

Complete the phonics sheet task attached.

If you have time left, go onto phonics play – phase 4.

Handwriting

10 mins

For your handwriting today, I would like you to do two lines of:

Capital F, G, H

Then using your HFW booklet, copy out the next 4 words.  As a challenge, write each of these words into a simple sentence.

Writing

30 mins

This week we are looking at The Gruffalo, which should be familiar with most of you.

Using your pictures from yesterday, can you retell the story of The Gruffalo in as much detail as you can remember?

You can either print off the gruffalo picture or you can draw your own version – just the outline.

I would like you to label The Gruffalo with nouns – like we’ve done in class together.

Next, I would like you to add adjectives to your nouns – try not to only use colours.  E.g. gigantic beast, soft fur, rumbling belly.

I have attached a Powerpoint about adjectives and nouns to support as needed.

HFW/Common exception words

5-10 mins

Read through your words, can you put them into a sentence?

Challenge – can you write down the word, spelling it correctly?

Reading

10 mins

Read your own book and retell the story to an adult.  If you need new books, you can access e-books on https://home.oxfordowl.co.uk/.  You can sign up for free and access age appropriate texts.

Mental Maths

10 mins

How many questions can you answer in 10 minutes?  Remember, you can draw or use resources to help you work out the answers.

Now, go around your home or garden and find two objects and draw them into your book.

Label them heaviest and lightest.

Repeat.

Community Art

30 mins

To bring a bit of cheer and comfort to those in our community, today I would like you to create something that we can pass on to local supported living homes.

It is completely up to you what you would like to create.  You may choose to create a bright and colourful picture (rainbows, summery days etc); a poem; a story or something else creative.  I would like you to either scan or take a photograph and email them in by Friday so that we can pass them along.

PE

30 mins

PE with Joe Wicks.
