Good Morning Everyone,

I hope this finds you well.  I cannot believe we are already on Thursday, the week has flown by.  Hopefully you are all able to be outside to enjoy this lovely weather we are having.

Complete the attached phonics sheet.

Then go onto Phonics play, Phase 4 – choose a game you would like to try (we have played buried treasure in class).

For your handwriting today, I would like you to do two lines of:

Capitals – L, M, N

Then using your HFW booklet, copy out the next 4 words.  As a challenge, write each of these words into a simple sentence.

This week we are looking at The Gruffalo.

Today you are going to be writing sentences using ‘and’ as a conjunction (joining word). 

You may want to have your work from Tuesday open (nouns and adjectives) to support your sentences. 


Your task today is to write descriptive sentences about The Gruffalo. 


The Gruffalo has orange eyes and a poisonous wart.

The Gruffalo’s tongue is black and slimy.


How many descriptive sentences can you write about The Gruffalo?

Today we are going to start looking at capacity.

Go onto

Week 1 Lesson 4.

As you watch the video, talk about the language being used as it may not be familiar.  Pause the video when questions are being asked and have a short discussion about their thoughts. 

You may need to watch the video more than once.


Then have a go at the attached task.  You may want to use items from your home to help visually demonstrate capacity.

Yesterday was Earth Day! 

Start by going through the attached presentation, talking about the different questions that come up and anything that surprises you.

For your activity I would like you to create a poster to show what you think are the most important things about Earth.  You may want to include things we could do to help the Earth (e.g. recycle, reuse).  Make sure you make them colourful J
