We have had a great week in Year 1!
In Maths this week we have been looking at money. We recapped our knowledge on the different coins and have moved onto counting in coins. Towards the end of the week we have been starting to look at different notes. I have been so impressed with the children this week. Money is a tricky concept to understand and they have all done so well. If you do have any coins or notes at home it would be great if you could go through them with your child.
In English this week we have learned about prepositions and also how to use exclamation marks. We have used our story book 'The Storm Whale' to help us with this. We have finished the week by planning our own letters as Noi telling people about what we have found on the beach.
Other highlights from this week have been playing Cricket on Thursday in the sunshine and sewing our own felt fish. The children all tried really hard with this. It was a bit tricky keeping the needle on the wool but they have all turned out brilliantly.
I hope you all have a wonderful half-term and I look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday 8th June.
