Year 1
17/9/21
Hello everyone,
We have had a great week in Year 1. This week in English, we have started writing sentences using capital letters, finger spaces and full stops. We have used our book ‘I Want My Hat Back’ to help us. In Maths, we have been looking at counting forwards this week. We have been very busy using lots of different resources to help us.
Things your child should have brought home with them today:
Reading Books: One reading scheme book and one RWI book. These will be changed on a Monday and Thursday. However, please make sure they are brought in everyday so we can hear your child read throughout the week. Library Books: We will change these once a week on a Wednesday.
Key Words: Your child has come home with their key words card. These words need to be known by sight. Please practice these at home, we will be checking in school weekly. Maths Fluency: Your child has come home with a Maths Fluency card. These are number facts that your child needs to know. These will help with their mental maths. Please practice these at home, we will be checking in school weekly.
Homework: Mathletics and Spelling Shed are both set on a Wednesday and due in the following Tuesday. Your child's passwords have been glued in the front of their reading records.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend,
Miss McKay
