We have had a great week in Year 1. We have had lots of fun with our learning. In English, we have finished our first learning journey where the children wrote their own versions of the story 'I Want My Hat Back'. The children all tried really hard to make sure they had used capital letters, full stops and finger spaces.
In Maths, we have been busy counting forwards and backwards as well as ordering numbers, we have used lots of resources to help us.
This week in Science we had a great time making shadow puppets and seeing how our shadows move positions through the day. You may have seen our chalk outlines on the playground.
To finish the week we had a visit to the pigs this afternoon which the children all enjoyed.
Just a quick reminder:
Please can the children have their reading records, book and ditty book in school every day. Myself and Mrs Kitcher are working hard to hear every child read twice throughout the week. As well please can you make sure your child is practising their Keywords and Maths Fluency frequently. These help lots with reading and mental maths.
I hope you have a lovely weekend and enjoy the sunshine.
