Year 1
Friday 3rd February 2023
Hello everyone, happy Friday!
In English this week, we have decided to look at different types of instructions. We have been labelling the features of recipes and having a go at following different instructions. On Monday, we will be following a recipe to make cakes – just like Little Red Riding Hood took to her Grandma! If anyone has any questions about this, please let me know.
In maths this week, we have been finding halves and quarters of shapes. Koalas have been very resilient this week and tried really hard even when they have found things tricky.
In science, we have been looking at animals and their habitats. On Tuesday, we went out on to the field and into the sensory garden to explore different habitats and what living things we would find there. We found spiders, wood lice and worms!
In art, we have been focusing on Clare Young and her artwork. This week, the children made marks and prints to create an animal in the style of Clare Young. I was very impressed by their concentration and dedication to their creation.
Well done Koalas on another fab week!
Have a great weekend,
The Year 1 team.
