What another great week in Year 1.
Yesterday was World Book day and we loved seeing all of the children in their wonderful costumes. They were all given a £1 book token to spend on a book of their choice. The Wold Book day books can be found in supermarkets and book shops.
On Monday, we were very lucky to be visited by a local author. She shared her book with us and Koala class were interested in asking her all about how she wrote the book.
In maths we have been looking at ordering numbers all the way to 100! The children have been using resources to represent numbers in different ways and using arrow cards to partition the number into tens and ones.
In English, we have enjoyed looking at diary entries and highlighting all the features. We have started to plan the diary entry and next week we will be writing them.
In PE this week, we have started our tennis unit. It was great to get outside today to practice our ball skills and the children are looking forward to using the racquets next week.
- This half term in DT, we are in need of any cardboard and kitchen roll tubes that may be going spare! If you have any at home that you are willing to bring in, I would be very grateful.
- On Wednesday, we are going to Marwell Zoo. Please can your child be wearing sensible shoes (trainers), warm clothes and a waterproof coat. They will also need a refillable water bottle. Many thanks. We are really looking forward to it! Any further questions, please do contact me.
Have a lovely weekend.
