Year 1
Friday 5th May 2023
This week has been full of Coronation celebrations!
This morning, Year 1 put on a really special assembly for the whole school. They all had a line which they remembered perfectly, and they all spoke so confidently and clearly. Everyone was so impressed, and they have made us so proud. Well done Koalas, what superstars!
We have also made crowns, paper chains and designed our own coronation flags. This afternoon, we had a whole school celebration in the hall with cake and songs.
In English, we have written our poems this week. Year 1 have really shown a creative flair this week and we definitely have some future poets in our class!
In maths, we have been solving problems using our knowledge of halving numbers. The children have really challenged themselves this week in maths and are showing how independent and resourceful they can be.
In science, Miss Lever came in and did a very exciting lesson with us. We used our scientific skills to answer the question ‘what is the most common plant in our school?’ We used our observation skills when looking for the plants and then tallied up different plants that we spotted.
Have a lovely Bank Holiday weekend, whatever you get up to.
We will see you on Tuesday.
