We have had a lovely week in Year 1.

In English, we have started our new writing unit. We are reading ‘The Storm Whale’ and we have spent this week discussing the text, sequencing it and drawing the setting and characters with chalk on the playground.

In maths, we have been working on halving and doubling a number. We have also been recognising and making equal groups of numbers. This week’s homework focuses on this topic to help the children consolidate their learning.

Yesterday in art, the children created collages of the seaside. They worked really hard on this and they are looking fantastic!

A letter has been sent out about our whole school walk which we are very excited for! If you would like to help out on this trip, please let me know. Thank you.

A reminder that if we are riding bikes/scooters to school, children should be wearing a helmet.
