What a fantastic week!
On Monday, we had a brilliant time at Lepe Beach. We spent the morning exploring the beach, we went on a scavenger hunt and learnt about erosion. The children made sandcastles out of sand and rocks and poured water on them to experiment which would erode the quickest. The children learnt a lot and found it really interesting. After our lunch, we spent some time in the fantastic park and had lots of fun!
On Wednesday, we went on a litter pick. This is one of our objectives to become a plastic free school. Each class had an assigned zone and went out into Brockenhurst to see what they could find. Year 1 went on The Rise down to the church and even on that short walk we couldn’t believe what we found. Well done Brockenhurst on such a great event to help the community and our environment.
In English this week, we have been writing our own story based on the book ‘The Storm Whale’. Koalas have amazed me with their creativity and amazing vocabulary. There are definitely some future authors in our class!
In art, we have been sewing to make our own felt fish. This has been a great test in our resilience as for lots of us this was our first time using this equipment. We have spent two afternoons doing this and Koalas have proven that hard work pays off! The fish are looking great and the children can’t wait to bring them home.
I hope you all have a lovely half term!
