Year 1
Friday 16th June 2023
We have had a lovely week in Year 1 full of great learning.
A huge well done to all the children who have worked incredibly hard with their phonics this week. I am so proud of them all.
In English, we have written a letter to a pirate to warn them about the Pirate Cruncher. We have used some fantastic vocabulary and some really descriptive sentences.
In maths, we have been using number bonds to 20 facts to help us solve problems.
In science, we have been looking at the differences between garden and wild plants. We have been on a plant hunt around the school grounds to see what plants grow around us.
Geography walk:
We are very much looking forward to our walk on Thursday.
If you are able to help out and come along with us, it would be very much appreciated. Please let me know.
Please can all children have sun cream applied before they come to school, have sun hats and plenty of water. Thank you.
History show case:
We are really enjoying learning about the Great Fire of London in history. I would love for the children to be able to show off all that they have learnt. If you are able to come, please join us for a history showcase on Thursday 13th July at 2:30.
As always, contact me if you have any questions.
Have a lovely weekend.
