We have had a very busy week in Year 1.

In English, we have been writing fantastic poems about the Great Fire of London. Next week, we will be starting to look at play scripts. This afternoon, we enjoyed watching the play of Alice in Wonderland. We are really looking forward to practising our own play and performing it to you on the 13^th July.

In maths, we have been looking at finding halves and quarters of shapes and amounts. Today, we moved on to sharing an amount equally. We enjoyed using the playdough to count out amounts and share them equally between plates.

In art, we have painted some lovely pictures of the Great Fire of London. I have been very impressed with Year 1’s creativity and control when using their paintbrush. Some of us have even tried different techniques which has made it look really effective.
