Year 1 - 13.9.24
We have had a fantastic week in year 1, the children have shown they are fantastic artists when learning about Eric Carle in Art. The children have also shown they are super geographers, we have been looking at maps of Brockenhurst, discussing the importance of an address and making their own passports. Geography Home Learning; Children to find out their address, house name or number and the road they live on and write it down and bring them to school on Wednesday 18th September. In a few weeks’ time we will be going for a walk around Brockenhurst on the afternoon of Thursday 3rd October, if you have a current DBS and are able to help please let the office know.
In English we have been sequencing the story of the Queens hat creating labels to match each picture and creating our own word bank of places around Brockenhurst.
In Maths we have been continuing our place value unit, learning that numbers can be writing in words and practising counting on from a given number. I have set some home learning to help the children with these skills. https://www.edshed.com/en-gb/homework

Book change is on a Monday and Thursday. The online Little Wandle eBooks have been moved to a different platform, new log on’s will be coming home soon. Thank you for your patience.
We hope you have a lovely week and thank you for your continued support.
