Y1 Entering Africa
Welcome back to a new half term. Hope you all enjoyed the break. This half term we will be finding out a lot more about Africa. Firstly at the zoo focussing on the animals that come from there and then in Geography we will be going on to find out all about a specific region of Rwanda and comparing it to where we live. We also hope to do some African inspired art work and music.
I hope everyone is set for Wednesday's trip to the zoo. Don't forget the later pick up of 4pm from school. Hopefully the weather will have improved a bit by then but please remember we will be outside for most of the day so ensure your child has both protection from the sun and a raincoat in case of bad weather. Whatever they bring they will need to carry in their own backpack. They will also need to carry their own lunch (we will give out the ones ordered from the school kitchen before we set off). I recommend they bring a drink for lunch and a bottle of water to have for the rest of the day especially if hot. We have got to do a fair bit of walking so make sure they have comfortable shoes to wear.
