Year 2
Year 2 - 14.02.2019
It was great to see so many of you at parents evening this week and share your children’s achievements. Please remember, should you need to discuss anything with me you can always catch me at the door at the end of the day and we can have a chat or arrange a meeting.
This week in maths we have been continuing with time – comparing and ordering. We have ordered our daily routine and compared different amounts of time for example which is longer 1 hour or 70 minutes. This has given the children lots of opportunity to show off what they know about time and use great mathematical reasoning. After half term we will be revisiting multiplication and division and focussing on the 5 x tables. Keep practising these at home!
In English we are becoming increasingly familiar with ‘The Great Explorer’ – we have been in role as the main character Tom and asked many questions, have sequenced the events, created freeze frames and shared our predictions for the next adventure. We look forward to continuing with this text after half term.
Please keep up the great work with reading over half term. Continue to read aloud for fluency and expression, as well as answering questions to check comprehension along the way.
We hope you have a lovely half term break.
Miss Blick
