Year 2
Year 2 - 29.03.2019
We have had a lovely week in year 2. It was brilliant to see so many of you in school this morning – we hope you enjoyed it.
In maths we have been looking at statistics. We have explored tally charts and pictograms and have been asking/answering questions and comparing the data. We have also gathered our own data in the school grounds - recording how many living animals/insects we could see, as well as data about favourite gifts!
In English we have written and published our own poems about Brockenhurst. The class worked very hard to plan and edit their poems – selecting their best ideas for publishing.
This week has been science week. As well as exploring our school grounds for living things, we have also designed and made our own explorer cars. We worked hard to select materials and describe why we have used them. The whole class worked brilliantly and had fantastic, creative ideas for their cars. We have written instructions that detail how we made them and spent this afternoon in the sunshine testing our cars on a variety of surfaces. We were so impressed with how far some of them travelled! We will look at the results next week.
REMINDER – During pick up times, please can you ensure that your children are not playing in the YR play houses or with the equipment in the outside area. Thank you for your cooperation.
As next week is the last week before the end of term there are no school run clubs
Have a great weekend.
Miss Blick.
