Year 2 - 22.11.2019
We have had a fantastic week here in year 2. The highlight for us all was definitely our visit to SeaCity Museum. The children behaved beautifully all day and were very sensible when walking to and from the train station. The day included a visit around the museum and a workshop with lots of different activities to complete. The staff at the museum were very impressed with the children’s knowledge of the Titanic already! I have added some pictures of our trip to this blog post.
In English this week we have been continuing to research the Titanic and sequence the events. We have used all of our knowledge of the Titanic to create our own newspaper reports.
In maths this week we have moved on to multiplication. We are using our knowledge of counting in steps of 2’s, 5’s and 10’s to help us to count equal groups and problem solve. We have been recording these by using repeated addition and multiplication number sentences as well as representing them on a bar model.
Thank you so much to the family members who joined us on Monday. It was great to see so many of you and we hope you enjoyed the morning.
Letters with costume recommendations have been sent out today. Please keep practising those nativity lines and songs!
Have a lovely weekend.
