Year 2 - 13.12.2019
Wow – what a wonderful week it has been! The nativity was a huge success and we want to say a huge well done to all of the children. We also wanted to thank you at home for supporting the children with their lines and for providing the amazing costumes.
This week we have created our Titanic shoe boxes. The children worked in groups of three and had one room to complete. They worked so well together and had some great, creative ideas. They used a range of materials and we are very proud of the final product. These have been used for our year 2 display, along with our fantastic news reports.
In maths this week we have be looking at division. We have been sharing a variety of different quantities and making sure that they are shared into equal groups. We have used maths equipment of pictures to help us work out the problems and have started recording these using division number sentences.
In English this week we revisited writing questions. We wrote questions that we would ask Samson about his journey on the Titanic. We also answered these in role. The children have also been planning their own diary entries from Samson and we will be writing these next week.
Another highlight for this week was our Christmas Craft morning. The children had great fun going to different classrooms to get creative (and glittery!).
We hope you enjoy the weekend.
