Good evening

Welcome back to another week of home learning! I hope you have all had a wonderful half term and managed to enjoy the beautiful weather we have had. Please see attached the home learning for today. As always, please keep in touch.  With our new routines in school, I may not reply as quickly as usual, but I am certainly still here for you all.

Maths

L.O: Add two 2 digit numbers.

Use a taught strategy for adding two 2 digit numbers.

You could add the ones, then the tens, then add together.

Draw a number line, count on the ones then the tens. Or use your knowledge of number bonds to bridge to the nearest ten then add the remaining amount.

Use pictures or equipment (representing tens and ones) to help you and exchange the ones for a ten when needed.

 

Handwriting

Please use your booklets to complete 15 minutes of handwriting practise.  Don’t forget your lead-ins and take your time!

 

Reading

15 mins

Read one of your favourite stories at home. Talk to someone at home about why you enjoy that book. How does it make you feel? What is your favourite part and why?   

Writing

L.O: To respond to a poem.

Read the attached poem to yourself and then out loud. Talk about any words that you are not sure the meaning of. Highlight all of the rhyming words in the poem. Can you think of any other rhyming words? Write them in your home learning book.

Science    

1 Hour

L.O: To compare suitability of materials.

Using your knowledge of materials, complete the attached activity. If you prefer, you could draw the objects in your book and label the materials you would use.
