Year 2 - 18.09.2020
We have had a lovely week here in year 2. The sun has been shining and we have spent as much time as we can exploring the outdoors. In science year 2 went on the field to carryout observations about this time of year – noting what was growing, what the weather was like, colours that they could see etc.
In maths we have been partitioning 2 digit numbers into 10s and 1s and identifying the value of each digit. All of the class have worked incredibly hard with this, using equipment and pictures to help them, and have approached problem solving tasks with perseverance. If you would like to practise a particular area of maths at home then ‘Topmarks’ have some great games children can access: https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/5-7-years/
In English we have been looking at the book ‘Blue Penguin’. This is a lovely story that the class have enjoyed reading. We have ended the week with writing a note from the penguin to a friend to tell them what has been happening in Antarctica.
We have been busy hearing all of your children read over the past two weeks and will have reading books sent home on Monday.
Have a great weekend.
