Happy half term year 2! We have loved seeing the children really settle into year 2 over the past seven weeks, and show us how amazing they are. They have had a great half term and I really enjoyed getting to share their successes with you during parents evening this week. 

This week in maths we finished looking at adding and subtracting 1s (without crossing into the next 10). The children used resources, number lines and pictures to work out the answers and did a great job solving missing number calculations. We have ended the week by looking at money, which will be continued after half term. If you have the opportunity, it would be really helpful for your child to play with some coins at home. Focus on recognising, naming, and counting amounts. There are also plenty of maths games available at: https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games 

In English we have written and published our instructions. Year 2 presented their instructions beautifully and added some great illustrations too!
