Year 2 - 27.11.2020
This week in English we have started our new learning journey. This is focussed on a poem called ‘Snow’ and the book has the most beautiful illustrations. We have spent time this week listening to the poem being read and we are beginning to join in with some of the lines too. We have also identified any unfamiliar vocabulary, discussing what the word could mean and looking up new words in a dictionary.
In maths we spent the beginning of the week continuing to add and subtract ones from a two digit number. We have now moved onto multiplication. We have used equipment and pictures to help us and have been cutting brilliantly in 2’s, 5’s and 10’s. You can practise these on https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/hit-the-button.
In science we carried out a great experiment to find out which different materials could/could not be changed by twisting, bending, stretching etc. We had great fun experimenting with different materials.
Unfortunately we are unable to put together our usual nativity performance this year. However we are working towards a Christmas recording to share with you at home. Watch this space – more information will follow next week!
I hope you all have a lovely weekend.
